Oswestry BID join forces with award winning high street app to boost the area’s digital footprint

Oswestry BID has launched an exciting new partnership, with multi award winning app LoyalFree, designed to boost high street footfall and sales in the town. Jason Nesbitt and Sophie Hainsworth, founders of the app, are introducing the app to Oswestry as the 14th town or city in the UK to take up this project which is rapidly gaining traction across the UK high streets, now supporting over 1,200 businesses.

Oswestry BID is the local Business Improvement District for the area, which is defined as ‘a business-led and business funded body formed to improve a defined commercial area.’ Encompassing roughly 300 businesses within the district, the benefits of the app will be available to those businesses. Formed in April 2018 the BID have launched many business support schemes, with LoyalFree becoming the latest addition.

LoyalFree is an innovative digital loyalty app which helps businesses attract new customers via a profile showcasing their offers, reviews, images and more. It pulls together all the vital information for an area, allowing users to benefit from using just one app for the whole of the UK. More recently the app can now offer competitions and interactive tours and trails.

This new partnership means that BID members will benefit from advertising in the local area, customer insights and social media support. A local guide will also help visitors with vital tourism information while an events section will showcase activities in the area. BID members already on board include Liar Liar, Petworld, Gillhams Deli and The George who will be running digital loyalty schemes.

The first trail to launch on the app will be the ‘Coffee & Tea in Oswestry’ with many others to follow including interactive Halloween trails, home refurbishment trails and ones to let customers know they can use the ‘One Oswestry’ reusable cup in the area.

Jason, who created the app from scratch, said: Its very exciting to launch in a new region within the UK, bringing our technology to more high streets. The uptake has been great on the first day and we are feeling very positive about the partnership moving forward.’

Adele Nightingale, BID Manager commented saying: For this area the app is perfect to deliver a digital platform to our businesses, which they can use to engage with locals and visitors alike. The app is simple to use and has all the information you need. With a large number of independents in the town we anticipate a large uptake from businesses and look forward to also support those on the industrial estate.’

Rob Wolstenholme, Gillhams Deli said ‘the app looks fantastic!  I have signed up for this service as I feel it will be a great marketing opportunity for Gillhams and it will help us to promote our business and offers.’

Jess Jones, EvaStore said ‘I think the LoyalFree app is a fantastic idea! It looks great and it even links to your social media and Google accounts so potential customers can find out more and read reviews’.
