CANCELLED Children Displaced by Conflict – Day Seminar at Ellesmere College

The seminar will explore the achievements of Ellesmere-born sisters Eglantyne Jebb and Dorothy Buxton who founded the Save the Children Fund one hundred years ago. As social activists, they took up the plight of starving children in central Europe at the end of the First World War and greatly in influenced the development of the international aid movement. Key speakers will discuss their legacy, the current refugee crisis and the challenges facing relief charities, including the increasing displacement of people caused by climate change and global warming.
