Spectators to the main ring can enjoy a packed programme including judging of the various horse breeds, parade of vintage vehicles and machinery; inter club young farmer’s competitions, and the highlight being the Imps motorcylce display team- now celebrating their 50th year- sponsored by our main sponsor this year Griffiths Tool Hire.

Also new for this year is Nick Gregory’s Gundog Display, using up to a dozen different dogs ( so anything could and often does happen) he showcases their training stages to the fully trained dog.

JUDGING

Judging of cattle & sheep classes takes place throughout the morning concluding with the grand parade of prize winners in the main arena in the afternoon.

The popular Sheep Shearing Competition also makes for exciting viewing when exhibitors race against the clock to remove fleeces in record times. We have once again been invited to be on the Welsh Lamb Shearing Circuit which should make for more exciting competition.

Oswestry Show boasts a strong Horticultural Marquee showing wonderful displays of vegetables and flowers demonstrating gardening at its best, beautiful colourful floral art arrangements, photography, wine and the imaginative children’s classes.

Many breeds of the fur and feather variety can be found in the Small Livestock Building, making for some fascinating viewing. A vital part of the Show is the Women’s Institute and Young Farmers areas, where their members showcase an amazing range of skills and talents and offer fun competitions for the children.

Younger visitors can enjoy a ride on the Oswestry Model Railway and a varied programme of entertainments has been organised for the Village Green, including gymnastics displays, The New Saints football and Scotty’s Circus workshop sessions.

A large number of trade stands are situated around the Showground and also a wide variety of stalls and businesses showcasing and selling their wares in the Craft, Food and Business Marquees.
