Oswestry Cycle Hub – Latest News

A quarterly review of Oswestry Cycle Hub has illustrated the positive development of the service in town. With connections across 47 potential partners such as Morrison’s, Aico, Sainsbury’s, local medical practices and residential homes, the cycle hub is looking to extend the service in the coming year.

The flagship Rickshaw service which is donation-driven and available to hail a ride, or by call and text, has seen a strong use by residents to get around the town, whether for shopping, medical appointments or visiting family and friends.

The cycle hub intends to increase the popular Bike Kitchens, run an Over 50’s Project, recruit volunteers as Rickshaw pilots and a bike mechanic, repair and recycle donated bikes, and continue to promote cycling for well-being.

The over 50’s Project in Oswestry looks to support over 50’s activity and help reduce social isolation with plans to hold meetings, confidence sessions and led rides in Oswestry starting in early September.

The Oswestry Cycle Hub is an initiative by Oswestry Town Council and Oswestry BID.
