Cashless carparking in Oswestry

Did you know that you can pay to park in a Shropshire County Council car by smartphone app, by text, by phone, or on the internet?

Shropshire County Council have partnered with MiPermit so you won’t need any cash, and you won’t need to display a ticket – or queue at a pay and display machine.

This video shows you how it works

To find out more about how it works, and details on how to receive a receipt for your purchase, take a look at the MiPermit website.

The locations below are supported by MiPermit and mean customers won’t have to find change for parking, being able to pay by credit or debit card instead. This reduces waste by not requiring a paper ticket to be displayed and offers greater flexibility, where you can extend your stay (if supported at the location) without having to return to your vehicle to put cash in the machine.

When you pay for your parking through MiPermit, your vehicle details are synchronised with the patrolling enforcement officers’ hand-held computers in real time, so when the officer sees you’re not displaying a paper ticket or permit, they’ll check their hand-held device and will find your vehicle has a valid stay attached to it.

You can arrange your parking by telephone, SMS from your mobile, via our smartphone apps or online using the MiPermit portal, or you can pay at participating traditional pay and display car parks using your mobile phone by SMS, our smartphone applications, online or by telephone.
